Joseph Verrengia passed away peacefully on September 18, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen (Graf) Verrengia for sixty one years. Born and raised in Hartford on November 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Casale) Verrengia. He lived most of his life in Elmwood. He was a parishioner of St. Brigid Church, served on the parish council, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends for over 30 years and was an avid fan of UCONN woman and men’s basketball teams, and the New York Yankees. Upon his retirement he worked as a school crossing guard for the Town of West Hartford.
