John J. McInerney, 92, of West Hartford, loving husband of the late Janet (Tordonato) McInerney and beloved father and grandfather died Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Hartford, John was a resident of West Hartford for 62 years. He was a veteran of WW II and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. John's optimism and integrity served as a model and inspiration for how to live life. He is survived by his three children, Karen Andrews and her husband Chris of Bristol, Diane Zirolli and her husband John of South Windsor and John McInerney and his wife Sylvia of Glastonbury; six grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Jackie, Shauna, Emily and Colin and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral procession will be Thursday, January 3, 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 am at St Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford with Military Honors. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 2, from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
