Obituary for John Patrick Burke

John “John John” Patrick Burke, 50, of Hampton, CT passed away unexpectedly, from natural causes at his home on October 26, 2018. Born in New Britain, Connecticut, he was the son of Priscilla Burke Ochankowski (Sarasota, FL) and the late James Stephen Robert Burke.
In his youth John attended Bristol Public Schools. John found his passion in the music industry. Although he supplemented his early years doing carpentry as well, he dedicated his life to the service of numerous musical artists as they toured around the world. He was employed by Shaboo Productions, LLC as a Stage Manager. Those who worked with him described him as brilliant, a true musical and technical genius. His most notable accomplishments included working with NRBQ, Merle Haggard, The J. Giles Band, Hall & Oates, Peter Wolf, and Foreigner for over 25 years of his career.
John was predeceased by his father, James; his step father, Donald “Ducky” J. Ochankowski, Sr., and his beloved cat, Django.
He leaves behind his mother, Priscilla; his brother, James Burke and wife Kim; nephews, Emory and Spencer Burke; nieces, Logan and Sydney Burke (West Hartford, CT); sisters, Sheri Ochankowski Naud and husband James, and Cindy Ochankowski; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends from around the world.
Everyone who knew John described him as humble, kind hearted, genuine, compassionate, caring, loving and gracious. He had a heart of gold and would always be there to lend a helping hand. His passion for music allowed him to travel and experience many parts of the world. He was modest about his experiences in the entertainment industry and truly just enjoyed being on the road with his “music family”.
John was also an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, cooking, gardening and trains. His love for animals was a true representation of his kind and caring soul.
