Joanne Louise Skowronek, 85, of the Elmwood section of West Hartford, beloved wife of John Skowronek, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was an extremely devoted and unselfish wife, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Joanne enjoyed preparing meals for holidays and gatherings for her family. She found joy surrounded by her beloved husband of 66 years and her family as well as making memories that would last a lifetime.

Joanne is survived by her husband, John; her three daughters, Mary Ann Adams (Steve), Dorothy Roy (Matt) and Debbie Jedynak (Tom); her grandchildren, Joel Walton, Kristen Fontaine (Rob), Jennifer McKinnon (Matt), John Contrastano, Jay Contrastano, Chase Adams (Tam), Joseph Contrastano; her three great-grandchildren, Logan and Lyla Fontaine and Bryson McKinnon; her sister, Dorothy Aiken (John); and her niece, Christine Cayer (Greg) and son Ben.

The family would like to sincerely thank all of the staff members at Glastonbury Health Care Center for the loving and professional care given to Joanne.

All services will be private as per Joanne's request. The Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, West Hartford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
