Joan A. Gibson, 67, of Sandy, Utah, formerly of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Sandy Health and Rehab Center in Sandy, UT after a lengthy illness. Joan was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ruth (Watson) Gibson. She was born and raised in Needham, MA until a family move to West Hartford, CT. She attended and graduated from Conard High School where she excelled in academics and sports. She also graduated from the University of Connecticut. She lived for many years in West Hartford before moving to Farmington, CT and then Utah.

Joan went on to work in an administrative capacity and in food services. She enjoyed acting and participated in community theatres. She also enjoyed dance and music, but most of all she enjoyed and loved her family. She will be remembered for her jovial spirit, dry sense of humor and kindness to many. Joan was always there to lend an ear and spared no generosity for others.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Hesketh of Milford, NH; her brother, Stanley Gibson of Draper, UT; her sister-in-law, Kimberly Gibson of Sandy, UT; her nieces Samantha and Danielle Gibson of Sandy, UT, Amy Gibson-Grant of Maryland, Susan Gibson of Pennsylvania, Diana Wills (Gibson) of Tennessee, Allison Black (Hesketh) of Massachusetts and her nephew and godson Jonathan Hesketh of Dover, NH as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews.
