Dear Ron, Benjamin and Naomi, I am heartbroken and deeply saddened by Janet's passing, and am so sorry I could not be present at her memorial. I loved her tremendously and was always inspired by her engaging spirit, her humanity and compassion, her self-confidence and groundedness. She was a wonderful friend to me all these years since we met studying Anthropology at Columbia together. Though she has passed on, I know the gift of her spirit will always be with us in our hearts. I send you much love and my heartfelt condolences as we grieve Janet's passing and reflect on her life and her love for us all.
