Jacob Vadakkethadathil, 69, of Newington, passed away on January 20, 2023 after a hospital stay to treat his recent illness.

Jacob was born on July 25, 1953 to Piley and Annamma Vadakkethadathil in Pala, Kerala India. After Jacob graduated from St. Sebastian High School in 1967, he went on to study in radio mechanism at Central Technical College in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. After graduating with a diploma in radio mechanical technology, he started his first job at Koodaranji as a radio mechanic, kickstarting a 30 year career in radio mechanism.

In 1978, Jacob married Gracy Plathottathil at Thiruvambady. Jacob and Gracy went on to have three children, Praveen, Preethy and Priyon. 

In 2018, Jacob retired from his job as a mail processing machinist after a successful career of 17 years with Data Mail Inc of Newington, CT. 

Jacob is survived by his beloved wife Gracy; his sons Praveen, Priyon and his daughter Preethy. Jacob was predeceased by his parents Piley and Annamma.

Calling hours will be at St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church, West Hartford on Tuesday, (January 24th) from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that prayers be made for Jacob and his family members.
