Obituary for Isaura Alves (Silverio Alfaiate)

Isaura Silverio Alfaiate Alves, 82, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Antonio Alves, died suddenly on Sept. 24th while vacationing in Portugal. Born in Carvalheiro, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late João and Sesaltina Silverio. Mrs. Alves came to the United States in 1968 and settled in the Hartford area. She was a seamstress at Charter Oak Apparel, and retired from Trinity College. Isaura was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a heart of gold and was generous and kind. Her greatest happiness was being with family.
She leaves her cherished sons and daughters-in-law, Arlindo "Al" Alves and his wife Caroline of E. Hartford, Angelo Alves and his wife Cristina of S. Glastonbury, Nelson and Margarida Alves of Unionville; her grandchildren, Melissa Alves Timpano and husband Justin, Kimberly Alves, Carla Alves Novo and husband Bruno, Daniel Alves, Sophie and Cruz Alves; her great-grandson, Leonardo Alves Novo; her sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Lucio Paulo; her niece, Isaura Agostinho; her nephew, Roger Paulo and many other treasured cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral procession will be Thursday, (Oct. 4), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford.
