Obituary for Gregory J. Barlowski

Beloved family man Gregory Joseph Barlowski of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023, after a brief stay at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford. At 68, he succumbed to a two-and-a-half-year battle with primary progressive aphasia, a rare type of dementia, surrounded by his family and clad in a Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap. A sports “Phanatic,” it was always the simplest pleasures in life that brought Greg the greatest joys: a game of cornhole or Yahtzee, frequenting fairs, “The Outlaws,” all things strawberry or lemon, and most importantly, supporting and spending time with his family. Born and raised in Bristol to the late Francis G. Barlowski and Helen (Trybulski) Barlowski, Greg graduated from E.C. Goodwin Regional Vocational Technical School in New Britain in 1973 with a diploma in Printing. The day following graduation, Greg began a lifelong and fulfilling career as a printer. This former Little League coach leaves behind his favorite cheerleader, wife Lori (Bilodeau) Barlowski, just weeks after the two celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Along with his adoring wife, he is survived by his proudest accomplishment, his son, Kevin Barlowski, and Kevin’s husband, Travis Cronin. He is also survived by four brothers: Thomas P. Barlowski and his wife Nancy of Terryville; James M. Barlowski of Bristol; Philip P. Barlowski and his wife Mary of Plainville; Donald J. Barlowski and his wife Alyce of Bristol; and Greg’s sister and partner in crime, Theresa A. Barlowski of Farmington.
