Gracinda (da Silva) Cordeiro, 86, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Ezequiel Cordeiro, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Avery Heights.

Born in São Bento, Porto De Mós, Portugal, daughter of the late Joaquim António and Vitoria Piedade da Silva, Gracinda lived in Hartford for many years. Her favorite activities included sewing, cooking, baking her own homemade bread and gardening. She loved her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she helped take care of them when they were little.

Gracinda is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Maria dos Anjos Pascoal and Antonio Pascoal of Farmington, Ilda Cordeiro Ribeiro and Ludgero Ribeiro of Simsbury; a son, Arlindo Cordeiro and daughter-in-law, Fernanda Ribeiro Cordeiro; several nephews and nieces, both here and in Portugal; three grandchildren, Michael Pascoal of Farmington, Jessica and Matthew Cordeiro of Avon; and a sister Nazaré da Silva of Portugal. She was predeceased by her brothers, Abilio Antonio and Antonio da Silva and her sister Maria Piedade.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, (November 26) at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Donations in memory of Gracinda may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
