It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerard “Jerry” Dubay, 79, of West Hartford. Born and raised in Hartford, he attended St. Ann’s School and graduated from Hartford Public High School before moving to West Hartford. He retired after many years from Bidwell Industrial Group in Middletown.

Jerry is predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Rose Dubay, and his son, Michael T. Dubay. He is survived by his wife, Diane Dubay (Tirone); his two daughters, Debbie Daddabbo (Jeffrey) and Geri-Lyn Dubay; his grandchildren, Kyle and Nicholas Daddabbo and Brooke Pearson; his brother, Richard (Mary) Dubay, of Ellington; his brother-in-law Daniel (Kathy) Hayes, of West Simsbury; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry loved all sports and was an avid Red Sox fan. He always enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Avon Health Center, as well as the staff on B wing, especially Marisol, Colleen and Wasi. They also wish to thank McLean Hospice Care of Simsbury for their care of Jerry.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be private.
