Obituary for Francesco Mancini

Francesco Mancini, 94, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Antonia (Santopietro) Mancini died Thursday, July 8, 2021. Born in Pontelandolfo, Italy he lived in West Hartford over 65 years. Francesco was a member of St Brigid Church West Hartford. Prior to his retirement he was a mason with the Bricklayers Union. Francesco was a World War II Army veteran who proudly served overseas in Germany under General Patton in the Third Army and was also a special M.P. Guard at the Nuremberg Trials with the First Army. Francesco loved music and hunting. In his earlier years, his greatest joy was visiting relatives and friends on weekends, and entertaining everyone by playing his accordion.

Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Joseph Mancini of West Hartford; his daughter and son-in-law, Madeline and Louis Mancini of Prospect; his grandchildren, Thomas and his wife, Shannon Mancini, Christopher Mancini, Josephine Mancini, Frank Mancini and his wife, Marissa and Rocco Mancini Jr.; his great grandchildren, Jacob Mancini, Donato Mancini and his brother, Peter Mancini of West Hartford. Francesco was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Mancini and his son, Rocco Mancini Sr.

The funeral procession will be Monday at 10:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00am at St Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield with military honors. Calling hours are Monday prior to the Mass from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
