Frances “Pinky” Doyle was born on December 30th, 1941 and the angels carried her away when she died at home in West Hartford on Friday, August 16th, 2019. Frances was predeceased by her beloved life partner, Bobbie Lepak. It is said that "Love knows not distance; it hath no continent; its eyes are for the stars," ... no doubt there is a party going on in heaven (complete with Manhattans!). Her sisters, Rita Doyle McKenney, Ann Doyle Flannigan, Joanie Doyle and Sheila Herchig were also waiting for her when she arrived. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie, her twin, Edmond B. Doyle of Amesbury, MA (formerly of Glastonbury, CT), Goddaughters Molly Baldo of Madison, CT and Tara Bass of New Fairfield, CT plus many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and friends who loved her dearly. Her cat, Hillary (named for you-know-who) will be cared for by her dear friend, Donna. Pinky worked as an operator for the telephone company, and retired from Heublein (the innovative company that came up with the idea of pre-mixing cocktails) where she manned the switchboard. Family meant so much to her and she and Bobbie took loving care of Pinky’s mother. Her home, Provincetown, her animals — especially cocker spaniels, April May and Mandy Lynn, her cat, Babs, the Divine Miss M and the New York Yankees all had special places in her heart. As did “Mark” who now resides in West Hartford with Pinky’s friend, John. A whole slew of folks are going to miss receiving a birthday card that arrived right on time. “The Pinkster” had a great style which included an array of hats and her signature rainbow tattoo. She was a fixture at family gatherings and her quick wit and penetrating blue eyes will be missed - as will her unwavering loyalty to those she loved. This was a strong and caring woman who lived her life in her own way ... paving the way without fanfare. Services will be private and a memorial party will be held in her honor this fall. If you would like to make a donation in her honor, The Connecticut Humane Society and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital were favorites.
