Flora Gorman (Loughlin) Duncan, 88 of Farmington, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2023.

Flora was born March 16, 1935 in Edinburgh, Scotland, to the late Thomas Loughlin and Flora (Pugh) Gorman. There, she met her husband, the late Peter Thomson Duncan, and together they came to the U.S. in 1960 and raised three children in New Britain before settling in Farmington. 

Flora worked for Cigna as an underwriting supervisor for many years.

She was also a faithful member of West Presbyterian Church in West Hartford. 

Flora was the most loving, caring and generous mother, aunt and grandmother, who shared a very special bond with her five granddaughters.

Flora leaves behind her brother, Clive (Josephine) Loughlin; her son, Scott of Newington, and her daughter, Flora (Marc) Schreiber of Naples, FL; her five granddaughters, Kristen Duncan, Kimberly (Jack) Koziatek, Flora and Kara Nardi and Hannah Duncan; her sister-in-law, Helen Loughlin; her nieces, Laura, Nancy, Trish, Janis, and her nephew Frank. 

Besides her husband Peter, Flora was predeceased by her brothers, Alexander and Eric; her son and daughter-in-law Stuart and Brigitte, and her nephew Kirk.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Autumn Lake Memory Care Unit #3 in New Britain for their many years of care. 

Calling hours will be Friday, (June 16) from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
