Elvira DiMenna Canora, 98, of Arden Courts of Farmington, formerly of West Hartford, passed away on February 23, 2021. She was born in Bucchianico, a Provence of Chieti, Italy. She emigrated to the U.S. when she was 8 with her mother and sister. She attended local schools and graduated from Hall High School in 1941. For many years Elvira worked as a secretary, retiring from Prudential Insurance in 1988.

Elvira leaves behind her devoted husband, William A. Canora. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children: John Canora (Karen) of New Britain, CT; James Canora (Denise) of Granby, CT and Maryanne Kucia (Tom) of Rehoboth, MA; her grandchildren: Jill Canora Dailey, Alex and Stephanie Canora, Matt and Jackie Kucia and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Gary Canora, her granddaughter Kathryn Canora, her sister Anne Pine and her brothers Ernest DiMenna and Ralph DiMenna.

Elvira and Bill enjoyed many winters in Port St. Lucia, FL. She always looked forward to returning home to tend her gardens and spend time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her cooking and baking and her enduring strength and resilience. A member of St.Brigid Church in West Hartford, Elvira was active in the Ladies Guild for many years.

The family would like to thank all her hard-working caregivers at Arden Courts for the love and care they gave our mom over the past 6 years. A private family service will be held.
