Ellie Condon, 90, beloved wife of the late Daniel Thomas Condon died Tuesday, December 8,2020. Born in Hartford, on September 18, 1930 the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl (Rock) Leahy, she graduated “Magna Cum Laude” from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Hygiene. She was a member of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, West Harford and was a member of the choir for many years.
Ellie loved gardening at her lake house in New Hampshire, taking care of a multitude of houseplants “her babies”, playing setback and joking around almost every Friday and Saturday night with her NH neighbors. She was an avid reader and loved doing needlepoint, along with knitting many a baby blanket! She also enjoyed music and listened to many artists, Barry Manilow was her favorite. Ellie carefully furnished her lake house by searching out and buying antiques that caught her eye. Dogs were a big part of her life and her favorite was “Pugsy” who would accompany her to the lake and find many rocks to play with in the water.
Ellie was predeceased by her older brother Donald Leahy. She leaves two Daughters, Kathleen Schellenger of Great Neck, NY, Margaret LaPerle and her husband Glenn of South Yarmouth, MA and three sons, John Condon and his wife Rhonda of Springfield, NH, Dan Condon and his wife Mary-Ann of Springfield, NH-East Hartford, CT, Edward Condon of Andover, CT; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
