Obituary for Edward S. "Ned" Lessor

Edward S. “Ned” Lessor, 58, of Hubert, N.C., formerly of West Hartford, CT, beloved husband of Margie (Villacorte) Lessor passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 while visiting his family in Connecticut. Ned was born in Hartford, CT to the late Edward D. Lessor and Judith A. (Pierce) Lessor on October 1, 1961. Ned attended Conard High School in West Hartford. He joined and proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.

In 1998 he married his loving wife, Margie (Villacorte) Lessor and together they had two beautiful sons. He was particularly proud of his involvement in the building of many local landmarks, and after 25 years of doing concrete work, Ned and his family retired to North Carolina. He appreciated war memorabilia and had quite a knowledge of military history, stemming from his father who served in the U.S. Army, including fighting in the Korean War. Ned had a life-long love for fishing and enjoyed it whenever he could. He passed this love of fishing down to his two sons, David and Charlie. Ned never missed a football game to cheer on his favorite team, the Vikings (even when they didn’t win!). He also had a passion for sailing, estate and tag sailing that is! Ned’s humor was like no other and could keep you smiling and laughing for hours. He passed this trait to his two sons too! He had a loving heart towards anyone he met.

Ned is survived by his two sons, David A. Lessor who is serving in the U.S. Navy at the Groton Submarine Base and Charles Lessor who will be starting 1st Grade in the Fall. He also leaves his brother Stephen Lessor and his wife Charmen Lessor, sister Suzanne Todd and her husband Chester Dziardziel, sister Mary Ellen Batista, his nephews Mason Todd, Jeremy Todd, Anthony Lessor, and his niece Terra Batista, along with seven great nephews and one on the way, along with one great niece and many cousins, along with a multitude of friends he has made over the years and through Facebook. Ned also leaves his wife’s family in the Philippines, his mother in law, Betecia (Langgamon) Villacorte, who has predeceased him and his father in law, Alfonso Villacorte, his sisters in law, Mercy Solijon and her husband Manuel Solijon, Herbert Dela Cruz and her husband Junjun Dela Cruz, his brother in law Charles Villacorte and his wife Mary Ellen Villacorte, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hour will be at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Due to Covid restrictions, the family will have a Private Prayer Service following the visitation.
