Obituary for Edward Everett "Bucky" Case

Edward Everett “Bucky” Case, 87, of West Hartford, passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. He leaves three sons and three grandchildren: Edward W. Case of Burlington, CT and his daughter and son, Sophie H. Case of San Francisco, CA and Mason S. Case of Arcata, CA; sons Steven D. Case and Paul R. Case of West Hartford, CT and his son Justin P. Case of Plainville, CT; his brother Richard A. Case of West Hartford, CT; and many relatives.

Bucky was predeceased by his wife, Stella C. Case; parents Edward W. Case and Marjorie L. Case; and sister Beverly Parker, all of West Hartford.

Born August 3, 1934, Bucky grew up in West Hartford, and attended Smith Elementary School, Plant Junior High School, and Hall High School. Thereafter he worked locally as an automotive mechanic and joined the National Guard serving the 1955 Farmington Valley flood victims. He married Stella C. Case in 1956. Bucky worked for Pratt & Whitney for a short time until he became a mechanic for the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation, where he worked until he retired. Bucky also had a side business, A&C Vending, serving the greater Hartford Area. He loved antique cars. During his retirement, he fully restored his first car, a 1935 Ford Phaeton convertible, which was his pride and joy. He paid $200.00 for it. Bucky was in the process of restoring a 1933 Buick when he passed. He loved baseball and football and spent many hours rooting for his New York Yankees and New York Giants. He enjoyed duck-pin bowling. He and Stella frequently had many local relatives over the house to play cards. They also enjoyed their summer barbecues at the family property in Granby. When his children were small, they went to Old Lyme Shores to spend time with their Godparents at the cottage at Miami beach. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and supported them as much as he possibly could over the years. He collected antique car parts, loved to play the piano, and restored his player piano. He lived his life the way he wanted to and enjoyed good health for the most of it.

Calling hours will be Thursday, June 16 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home. 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com.
