Obituary for David C. Marchand

David C. Marchand, 41, of New Britain, formerly of West Hartford and Bristol, passed away unexpectedly March 5, 2019. Born on March 21, 1977, he was the beloved son of Gerald and Sheila (Haley) Marchand. David was a genuinely kind person, who loved helping others. If you needed something, David would be there.
David worked for the carpenters union, local 326 most recently for Arborio Corporation constructing bridges. David was happiest when he was busy. He felt at home working with his hands and enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done. For the past 15 years, David enjoyed volunteering his free time at Special Olympics as a unified partner and a coach in bowling, floor hockey, soccer, and bocce. David was also devoted to his three rescue dogs Lily, Daisy, and Bella, on whom he doted. In addition to his parents, David leaves behind his brother Christopher Marchand of West Hartford, his sister Marcella Makuck, her husband Ryan, and their four children Avery, Claire, Alex, and Katie of Ellington. He adored playing with his nieces and nephew. He loved to engage them in games, especially when they were extra silly, and would make everyone wild. David also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. On Monday, March 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., family and friends are invited to meet directly at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St, Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Connecticut, 2666 State St. Suite 1, Hamden, CT 06517.https://www.soct.org/ways-give/individual-giving/ Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
