David Harwood Johnson, 67, of Farmington, CT left the world peacefully on Thursday, May 6th, 2021, with his family by his side. David was born on January 7th, 1954, in Holyoke, MA. He grew up on Ledgewood Rd in West Hartford, CT. He graduated from Conard High School (1972) and Ithaca College (1976).David was self-employed and a successful businessman.

He was the son of the late William Harwood Johnson, Sr. and Pearl (Boisvert) Johnson. David was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and an incredible friend to many. David is survived by his wife and life partner of 39 years, Anne Lloyd Johnson and his 3 daughters, Laura Johnson, Sarah Nadler (Matthew Nadler), and Hannah Johnson (John Giovannucci). He was a grandfather to-be of Jacob David Nadler, who is expected in August 2021. David is also survived by his older sister, Barbara Sanzo of Colchester, CT. David was the brother of the late William “Bill” Johnson, Jr. (2008) and Joyce(Johnson) Quinn (1970).David also loved and cared deeply for his three dogs, Jesse, Maddie and Midnight.

David was a genuine, intelligent, and compassionate person. He had a keen eye for great food and always knew which restaurants to visit to enjoy the tastiest meals. He had extensive knowledge about almost everything!! David enjoyed sharing with friends how to fix things, which routes to take when traveling and where to find the best deals. He was a true friend and neighbor, always willing to help others because as he often said, “it was the right thing to do.” David would do anything for his wife and daughters. He never missed a volleyball or soccer game and he loved cheering his girls on with whatever endeavor they chose. He was proud of his daughters in so many ways.

In addition to family trips to Walt Disney World and Hampton Beach, which he thoroughly enjoyed, Dave loved nothing more than spending time at Lake Nubanusit in Nelson, NH. This is where his father, Bill Sr. built their first lake house. David carried on this tradition with his own family by renovating a special cabin known as “The Kingfisher” and eventually built “The Blue House,” in 1993.He was the captain of the family’s pontoon boat and he loved to cruise to the end of the lake for floating, swimming and socializing with friends. David also enjoyed taking the golf cart up the hill for a “quick ride” to visit neighbors. He was loved by so many and respected by all and will truly be missed.
