Obituary for Daniel "Dan" A. Petronella

Daniel “Dan” A. Petronella. 94, of West Hartford, beloved husband of the late Elaine Petronella, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Born in West Hartford on January 2, 1929, to the late Dom and Louise Petronella, Dan attended area schools before serving in the U.S. Army for four years during the Korean War era. Dan went on to work nights as a West Hartford Police Officer and he worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation for 41 years before retiring in 1989. Dan worked weekends from 1979 to 1989 at the Eastwood Pub & Cinema in East Hartford, owned and operated by his wife and son, where he greeted customers and sold tickets. Never one to not be working, Dan also worked at his son’s motor sports business in Enfield as a salesperson, when his health would allow him to. Dan enjoyed music and was a professional musician since the age of 14 and through the 50’s to the 80’s he could often be found playing at various venues around New England and New York for weddings and holidays. He volunteered as an usher at St. Mark the Evangelist Church and worked as a driver for the area funeral homes. Dan was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW.

Dan leaves behind his son Gregg and numerous nieces and nephews.
