Chris Cusano, 93, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Merope “Mary” Macris Cusano. Chris was born in Hartford on November 19, 1922. He was the son of the late Adamo and Filomena Cusano. Prior to his retirement, Chris was employed by Jacobs Manufacturing Company. He also owned his own Texaco gas station in Hartford for many years. Chris will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his daughter, Cheryl Leva and Tom Larkum of Bloomfield, his son Chris Jr. of Manhattan and his grandson, Jimmy Leva, and his fiancé, Chantal Silvano, of Farmington. He is predeceased by his sisters, Ann DeLisa, Mary Sulots and Joan Uricchio (Zizzamia) and his brothers, Joseph and Angelo. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Chris was a veteran of World War II serving in the Philippines. He enjoyed watching old western movies, listening to music, trips to the casino, talking about politics, but most of all spending time with family. He will be remembered for his big personality, sense of humor and his most generous heart. The family would like to thank Greg Bitterman, Maria, Jimmy, Peter and Luanne Matarangas and our many wonderful friends and family for their loving care and compassion during this most difficult time.
