Obituary for Carole Jurries (Hudson)
Carole J. Jurries, 82, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Bronx, N.Y., she met a handsome boy at church by the name of Ralph, who she would marry in 1959.
Carole was inquisitive and loved to learn. She had a lifelong love of reading and volunteered with local literacy programs in the Bloomfield Elementary Schools. An avid book collector, she enjoyed her volunteer work with the Friends of the Bloomfield Library. Prior to retirement, she was employed at CIGNA Insurance.
In retirement, Carole and Ralph enjoyed many years traveling around the U.S. and to international destinations. The one nearest to her heart was their annual trip to Ogunquit, ME with friends and family.
Carole was predeceased by her parents Martin and Elizabeth (Burke) Hudson. She leaves her beloved husband of over 60 years Ralph, her sister Helen Remaley of Georgia, her daughter Valerie Jurries and husband David Bagdon of Medway, MA and her son Paul Jurries of Bloomfield, CT. She also leaves her grandchildren Michael and Parker, who were the lights of her life. When asked what her favorite place was, she often replied, “Anywhere my grandchildren are”.
