Obituary for Carol Bradley

Carol Bradley, born July 15, 1937 to the late Mary and Joseph Carondo, passed on Monday surrounded by her daughters JoAnne Bradley and Donna Rioux of West Hartford, CT and Leila Tarantelli of Enfield, NH. Carol’s greatest joy were her grandchildren Nikki Boyer, Brianna Rioux, Chris Beisel, Brent and Gage Eastman, Sam, Maddy and Meagan Tarantelli and Daniel Birch and her great grandchildren Ben and Emily Boyer, Autumn, Charlie, and Elsie Eastman and Joanna Birch. She adored and shamelessly flirted with her beloved son-in-laws David Rioux and Mark Tarantelli.

Carol was born in Providence RI, where she lived her formative years. An attendee of Classical High School, she was a lively cheerleader and voted most popular upon graduation. She attended University of Rhode Island. She moved with her husband “Woody”, to East Hartford, CT in the 1960’s where she taught many youth in courses such as English, Special Education and Business at the public high and middle schools. Carol was an avid tennis and bridge player and lover of swim meets, always present routing her children on. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, sharing her free time with the House of Bread or making sandwiches for folks in difficult times. Food was comfort and her aim was to make sure no one went without; no one included all her fury babies. Never allowing dogs in her homes growing up, Carol sure had many a four-legged friend. Dog and cat treats were always within reach and Lucie, blind as she can be, surely knew this and was always at the ready to receive her grandma’s handouts.

Appearances were always important to Carol and she was known to dress to the 9’s always looking classy and sharp. Couple this with her brilliant smile that lit up any room she entered; she left an impression on all she engaged.

Widowed at 34 from Francis Woodworth Bradley of Cranston, RI, Carol didn’t have the easiest life but she was strong weathering all storms and trials placed in front of her. She will always be fondly remembered by her daughters and those who loved her with a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay in hand, as the little train that could. She was our “Tiny Pants”. She was our Rock. She will forever be in our hearts.

A Service will be held at St. Francis Chapel, 163 Smithfield Avenue, Pawtucket, RI at 10am on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com.
