Barbara Mae (Reynolds) Anderson, 87, of Vernon, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on April 24, 2023.  

Barbara was born October 10, 1935 in Coventry, VT to Oscar and Eva (Stevens) Reynolds and was the fifth of eight children. She was always grateful for the fun and loving family she was born into and especially proud of being a “farm girl”. 

Barbara came to live in Connecticut at the age of 19 where she began an almost 30-year career with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (now known as Cigna). She was active in her church for many years, loved her Lord and tried her best to “Love thy neighbor as thyself”.

Barbara married her beloved husband, Carl R. Anderson, on May 22, 1976 and moved to Farmington where they enjoyed many years spending time with family, friends and neighbors. In retirement they did more traveling and especially loved taking walks with their little dog, Joshua. Barbara was pre-deceased by Carl on November 24, 2019. 

Besides her husband, Barbara was pre-deceased by her sisters, Juanita Shannon and her husband Reginald, Carol Stevens and her husband Carl, her brother Ted Reynolds and his wife Dottie, and her brother-in-law Lee Simons. She is survived by her brother Worthy Reynolds and his wife Jackie, and sisters Joyce and her husband Mike, Connie Reynolds and Polly Simons. She leaves many much-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well. 

Funeral services will be Sunday, (June 4), at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Calling hours will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service following at 1:00 p.m.
