Obituary for Armando Molinaro

Armando was born in Casalduni, Benevento, Italy on October 29, 1936, where he lived until 1958,when he immigrated to Canada and lived in London, Ontario until 1965 when he immigrated to the United States to marry his fiancé of nine years Maria D’Occhio, and settled in Connecticut.

Armando worked as a welder his entire career, from railings to aerospace parts he was proud of his profession and was appreciated for his skill. He retired in 2002 and spent his retirement doing his favorite things: traveling to visit family & friends, watching sports especially Italian soccer matches, gardening, tending to his fruit trees, hunting with his great friends, and most of all, being a Nonno spending time with his beloved grandsons and cheering them on at their hockey games.

The ultimate family man, Nonno loved gatherings with family and friends, sharing wonderful homemade meals, indulging his sweet tooth with all of Nonna’s homemade desserts and any Italian pastry he could find. Nonno enjoyed entertaining everyone with stories, jokes, “proverbi” and, beating them at card games. Although he had siblings, cousins and friends across the globe, they were always close to his heart and a phone or video call away. He was a devout Catholic and watched the televised Mass daily with his wife.
