Obituary for Antonio Martins Pinho Jr.
Antonio Martins de Pinho Jr., 100, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020. He was born in Coelhosa, Casteloes, Vale de Cambra, Portugal on January 30, 1920 to the late Antonio Pinho and Maria Rosa Pinho. Antonio was predeceased by his wife Eufemia Rosa de Almeida,
to whom he was lovingly married for 76 years, his son Humberto Pinho and five sisters and three brothers.
Antonio leaves his beloved children, Joaquim and M. Adelina Pinho of Newington, Antonio and M. Filomena Pinho of Farmington, M. Irene and Ernesto Tavares of Newington, M. Adelina and Antonio Moreira of Rocky Hill and Jose Carlos and Ana Pinho of Newington. He also leaves his cherished eleven grandchildren, Anabela (Paulo) Cerdeira, Marco (Rute) Pinho, Paulo (Christina) Tavares, Daniel (Lea) Pinho, Ricardo (Anne Marie) Tavares, Luis (Becky) Moreira, David (Rossi) Pinho, Jason (Liz) Pinho, Nelson (Christina) Moreira, Alyssa (Luis) Oliveira and Daniella Pinho and ten great grandchildren Andrea, Alex, Payton, Ava, Jake, Lila, Hannah, Oliver, Nora and Ian. Antonio is survived by a sister, Blandina Martins and a brother, Evaristo Pinho, both of Portugal.
Antonio also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews and an extended family here and in Portugal and Canada. Due to Covid19, a private funeral for the family will be held. A Mass will be held at a date to be determined. Thank you to all the healthcare workers who brought comfort to him when the family was not able to.
