Antonio Niro, 86, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Rosa (Manocchio) Niro of 58 years, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, at home surrounded by his family and dear friends. Born in Baranello Campobasso, Italy, immigrating to Hartford in 1971, he was the son of the late Nicola and Filomena (Gualtieri).  After working at Carling Technologies in Hartford for over 30 years, he retired in 2003.

Besides his wife, Antonio leaves his daughter, who was his whole world, and son-in-law Mena and Tony Nunes of Rocky Hill.  He also leaves a brother and sister-in-law, Cosimo and Cristina Niro of Hartford, sister-in law Angela Niro of Newington, sister Giovanna Niro of Australia and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Giovanni and Anna of Campobasso, Italy. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends both here and in Italy. He was predeceased by a brother and sister. He will also be missed by Coco, his fur grandbaby, who laid by his side during his final hours. Antonio loved making homemade wine, which he loved to share with family and friends, tending to his garden, and playing cards with longtime friends. He will be missed by all.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Funeral procession immediately following with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Saint James Church in Rocky Hill.  Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
