Antonio had a forty-year career at The Taylor & Fenn Company in Windsor, where he was so admired that he was asked to stay on a part time position even after his retirement.

Antonio had a great love for animals all his life. He loved his cats Big Paw and Katrina, a stray kitty he found at Taylor & Fenn that he brought home with him. He had a great love for the sea, was a great swimmer, loved going clamming at the Connecticut shore and loved to spend weekends at Ocean Beach with his wife and seven children in tow. He loved going back to the Azores for vacations and loved to tell stories about his youth growing up on an island where he learned to snorkel and spearfish. He also loved keeping a vegetable garden when he was younger and planted a red grape arbor that still thrives to this day. He had a love for food and was a great cook. He enjoyed dancing and shared that love by taking his children and grandchildren to the Portuguese dinner dances and festivals. Christmas was his favorite holiday where he loved getting into the holiday spirit by decorating the house, setting up the tree and listening to Christmas carols.
