Born in Casalduni, Benevento, Italy, Anna was one of 14 children of the late Cosimo and Maria DiRubbo. She immigrated to the United States with her husband Antonio and son Joseph. She had a variety of jobs but was primarily trained as a seamstress, at which she excelled.

Anna leaves behind her son, Joseph Romano and his wife Carmela Romano; her daughter, Rosemary DiGiacomo and partner Frank Cantwell; her two grandchildren, Alessandra and Michael DiGiacomo; her younger brother, Nicolino DiRubbo in Canada; her younger sister, Angelina DiRubbo in Italy; and numerous nieces and nephews in the United States, Canada, Italy, and Argentina.

Anna was a teenager during World War II in Italy and had many difficult memories of occupying German soldiers. She was a passionate person who believed in helping others.
