Andrew J. Mank, 82, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Mary Anne (Rich) Mank, died peacefully, Tuesday, September 27, 2016. He was born in Kingston, NY, son of the late Andrew J. Mank and Irene (Varga) Mank. Andrew was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a graduate of Vaughn College and the University of Hartford. His career as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace field spanned 43 years, having worked for Kaman Aircraft and later Sikorsky Aircraft. As a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus he was a lector and a prolife representative. Andrew also served as a Eucharistic Minister for St. Brigid Church. Besides his wife, the love of his life, Andrew leaves a son Andrew and daughter Lisa; four wonderful grandchildren; a sister Irene Dozier; many nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Mank. Funeral services for Andrew will begin with a calling hour on Saturday, (October 1), from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 1:00 pm at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Ave., West Hartford.
