Laudalino V. Marques of West Hartford, CT, 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. Son of Antonio Pacheco Marques and Maria de Lourdes Vieira, Laudalino was born May 7, 1942, in Porto Formoso, Sao Miguel Azores.
Laudalino grew up in the Azores, where he met his wife, Maria de Fatima Mendonca. The couple wed in 1968 in Porto Formoso and immigrated to the United States that same year. After settling in Connecticut, Laudalino worked for 39 years as a Machinist for Jacobs Vehicle Systems in Bloomfield. He and Maria were happily married for 49 years and raised their family in West Hartford.

Laudalino especially treasured watching his grandson play soccer, taking selfies with his granddaughter, and enjoying Portuguese dinners with his wife. Laudalino was an avid (and vocal) fan of the FC Porto soccer team, and he and Maria spent their summers with family in Sao Miguel Azores. Many friends and family members both there and in the States were grateful recipients of Laudalino’s wine, which he took joy in making.
