Joao Tomas Cardoso, 81, of Hartford, beloved husband of Albertina (Enxuto) Cardoso, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Obidos, Portugal, he came to Hartford in 1974. Joao retired from A.T. Foote Woodworking where he was employed as a cabinet maker. After his retirement he enjoyed spending summers in Portugal and helping his family with home improvement projects. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford.
Besides his wife, Joao leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Jose and Roxanne Cardoso of New Britain and George and Julia Cardoso of West Hartford; his daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Dino Signorello of Newington; his grandchildren, Jessica, Paul and Kimberly Cardoso and Marcello and Johnpaolo Signorello. He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Antonio and Eva Cardoso.
Funeral procession be Thursday, (April 12), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
